It is speculated that the healthcare industry is up to 10 years behind in the marketing world, and this article is centered around the growing importance of digital ad spend in this space and findings from the Research Annual Health Care CEO survey.

This survey found that operational margin management is a top priority of health systems’ C-suite. This margin hit an all time low at only 1.6%. This disparity between revenue and expense is largely attributed to overemphasis on cutting costs, declining patient numbers, and lack sustainable revenue boosters.

This article poses digital marketing as a potential remedy to the unsustainable trajectory of current healthcare management and declining patient numbers.
